IHBG Leveraging Finance Program Training Opportunities - 2008
HUD has designed this 2-day workshop with hands-on exercises and case studies to provide the building blocks of sustainable native economies, including: comprehensive and strategic planning, institutional development, legal frameworks, capital leveraging, and economic diversification. Participants will also be introduced to bond market essentials such as credit ratings, and taxable and tax-exempt products.

Solar Energy International Offers Training - 2008
Solar Energy International (SEI) is a USA non-profit organization whose mission is to help others use renewable energy and environmental building technologies through education. SEI teaches individuals from all walks of life how to design, install and maintain renewable energy systems, and how to design and build efficient, sustainable homes. SEI offers trainings online and in 22 locations around the world.

Institute for Tribal Environmental Professionals (ITEP) Training and Workshops - ongoing
ITEP's goal is to assist in the professional development and exchange of information for tribal staff in order to enhance the operations and performance outcomes of environmental management.

Harvesting Clean Energy Conference - January 25-27, 2009, Billings, MT
The Harvesting Clean Energy Conference is the Northwest's premiere gathering to advance rural economic development through clean energy production. Clean energy offers practical, profitable opportunities for our farmers, ranchers, rural utilities and towns, tribes, and regional economy. The conference charts the future of rural clean energy in the Northwest. Discussions focus on the steps to successful project development, including financing, to cut costs on the farm and produce power or feedstocks for market. Technologies covered include wind power, biofuels, biopower, geothermal, solar, and energy efficiency.

Tribal Energy Program Review - November 17-19, 2008, Denver, CO
This annual program review is intended as a forum for tribes to meet and learn from other tribes pursuing energy sufficiency through conservation or renewable energy. As we recognize the increasing interest of tribes in energy efficiency and renewable energy and the benefit of tribes learning from tribes, we're opening up this meeting to Indian Country as a whole. This is a unique forum where you can get an excellent overview of the wide range of renewable energy and energy efficiency projects under way in Indian Country.
